DESCRIPTION
The DCAA Form 1s is a "Notice of Contract Costs Suspended and/or Disapproved." Prime contractors may experience significant negative impacts related to reimbursement of costs and payment of fee as a result of DCAA's issuance of Form 1s. This session covers the basics of Form 1s and offers practical advice regarding the avenues available to contractors attempting resolution. It will discuss the reasons why Form 1s may be issued and differences between "suspended" and "disapproved" costs. The roles of the DCAA auditor, ACO, contractor, and subcontractor will be reviewed with regard to Form 1s. Cash flow, risk mitigation measures, and the applicability of the Prompt Payment Act if Form 1s are rescinded will also be discussed. This session will provide valuable insights to anyone involved with Form 1s.
