This audio seminar introduces the participant to the federal contract structure and content and the objective is to provide an understanding of the subject matter. Topics to be presented include the uniform contract format, solicitation provisions, contract clauses, and contract forms. Lynn Bales, CPCM, Fellow, will speak on how Federal Contracting Officers prepare solicitations and resulting contracts using the Uniform Contract Format (UCF). The UCF facilitates preparation of the solicitation and contract, as well as reference to and use of those documents by offerors and contractors. The Parts of the UCF include 1) the Schedule, 2) Contract Clauses, 3) List of Documents, Exhibits, and Other Attachments, and 4) Representations, Certifications, and Other Statements of Bidders.
-How Solicitation Provisions are used as terms or conditions only in solicitations and applying only before contract award;
-How Contract Clauses are used as terms or conditions in both solicitations and contracts, and applying after contract award. Clauses state the rights and obligations of each party to a contract; and
-How the requirements for use of Contract Forms are prescribed or referenced throughout the Federal Acquisition Regulation, and how to find samples
